Nigerian Scammers.....
So - This whole scamming thing. It makes me so frustrated
You know - scammers don't have to be from Nigeria. Thats just where the largest number of scams appear to originate from.
Dad was at the post office a while ago, an there was a person putting money into an envelope to send to a far off land - it was heaps of US bills. He tried to chat with the person, and they were adamant that it was a deposit for a big transaction and that they were the luckiest person in the world. They would not listen that their dream might not come true. Dad came home after that and spoke with me about what eventuated - thats when I had the idea of making a webpage, showing the world what Huskies actually do - we help people.
Scammers target people who want to believe that their big dream is real - Somebody actually wants to send them money. But thats never how these things end. There is always some hitch. Some 'middleman' who needs to receive a payment and then you will get the money. I promise you that in the years that the Internet has existed exactly ZERO people have received funds from a Nigerian Prince.
My ScamWatch Sites
There are many great websites to let you know about various scams that are taking place right now. I have compiled a list of my favorites, spend a little bit of time having a look at these sites to make sure you are familiar with how these nasty people work. I don't write these sites - I am simply a Husky on a mission - but I can point you in the direction of people who know much more than I do.
ScamWatch - Australia A good site for learning about current scams
Tricking Scammers
Of course - there are some very clever people who have taught scammers that they should do better things with their time. Here are a couple of examples. I can not condone such behavior as it may be unsafe.
I provide each of these to show the length that people will go to to steal money. In all of these cases, they were expecting thousands of dollars from their victims.
About Me...
I'm just a Husky on a mission. Every day there are people falling for online scams, people spending their savings on a desire to get something that they could only dream of. Maybe somebody emailed them with an offer to help move some money from a war ravaged region, maybe somebody emailed them looking to find somebody to help move monety from a bad person. None of it is real.
If I had a million dollars then I would love to send you some - genuinely! But thats never how these things end. There is always some hitch. Some 'middleman' who needs to receive a payment and then you will get the money. I promise you that in the years that the Internet has existed exactly ZERO people have received funds from a Nigerian Prince. So - Save your money, and instead send a donation to a Puppy shelter, or a homeless support group.
